It’s been an unusual couple of days around my home office. I was going to record a few videos yesterday (to get ahead of the work) when my phone suddenly went nuts – I was answering ChessBase and Fritz questions on and off all day long (which is a good thing, other than the fact that I didn’t get a single video recorded).
I decided to cut a few videos this morning. We’ve been having thunderstorms on and off for a couple of days, which means that I’ve been turning on my computer, doing some work, hearing a boom, turning off my computer, then lather, rinse, repeat.
Despite all of this, I managed to get a few weeks’ worth of raw uncut videos finished this morning, videos which (in an edited form) you’ll be seeing later on USCFSales’ YouTube channel.
If you haven’t checked it out yet, our video channel presently contains about three hours’ worth of ChessBase 11 instructional videos, primarily information and demonstrations on using the search mask to find games by material balance, piece maneuvers, board positions, and more. We’ll be adding a lot more material in the weeks to come, so if you haven’t yet watched our videos, now might be a good time to get started (or caught up).
Here’s the link to our channel:
You can also click the link at the top of the sidebar on the right-hand side of this blog to get to the video channel.
All of the videos so far deal specifically with ChessBase 11, but many of the tips (on header searches as well as searches by board position) are fully applicable to Fritz12, so users of Fritz, Rybka, Hiarcs, Shredder, and Junior will be able to benefit from watching these videos. We’ll be introducing some Fritz/Rybka videos in the near future, so please do keep an eye out for them!
Have fun! – Steve Lopez
